2018 Honda Accord Review

The ninth generation of Honda Accord released in 2012 is now approaching its fifth birthday. Honda’s tradition stipulates that 2017 or 2018 is considered a perfect time to release a next-gen update for this line. Since 1989, Honda accord has been achieving a prestigious position in US automobile market. It is thus not surprising if the 2018 update of this line is one of the most awaited models for the majority of Honda’s fans.

2018 Honda Accord Redesign

The new design language that Honda adopts for the next-gen model requires the application of sleeker and sportier look for most Honda’s lines, including its mid-size sedans. We can thus expect that the new Accord will sport elegantly curved roofline that blends gracefully with its sloping rear window, which—just like its front—is given an aggressive look to give the entire vehicle more character. This aggressiveness also appears in Honda’s choosing of the vehicle’s grille, which will be made as bold as that of Ridgeline.

2018 Honda Accord Interior Design

Just like Civic, Accord will apparently adopt more modern interior and abandon the conservative cabin that it uses now. Stylish materials, including high-quality leather upholstery, plastic dashboard, and real wood trims, will likely be included in the new model. Modular platform will also be applied to Accord’s interior design to allow it to be significantly stiffer and lighter.

2018 Honda Accord Engine

The 2018 version of Honda Accord is expected to carry lighter and more efficient engine. A four-cylinder 2.4-L inline engine and a 3.5-L V6 engine are the best candidates for powertrain that Honda will use for its next-gen Accord line.

2018 Honda Accord Release Date and Price

The release date of 2018 Honda Accord has yet to be confirmed by Honda, but we can expect it to hit the showroom somewhere around the end of 2017. As for the price, $24,000 should be a realistic estimation for the base model and $35,000 for the hybrid model.
